How My Obsession With Wix Studio Got Me to Their Marketplace

Curiosity killed the cat, but in this case, it got me to create an online store website template accepted to the Wix Studio marketplace. Here is how it happened.

How it started

It's August 2023 and I get an email with the news that the new Wix Studio editor and builder is rolling out for all Wix users. And the first thing that comes to my mind is: I have to test this out!

And so I do, but browsing the different features and checking the release notes and videos and of course enjoying the onboarding.

After a couple of hours playing around with the new interface, I came up with the idea to create an e-commerce website for selling jewellery, since I used to create necklaces, earrings and dreamcatchers myself it sounded like a great idea.

Being in the zone: If you are in the zone, you are happy or excited because you are doing something very skilfully and easily. And usually losing track of time.

How it went

Then I caught myself narrating the features and my design decisions and the next thing I knew I already scheduled my first live stream on YouTube. And I am so glad I did!

As a true no-code enthusiast I took advantage of all the offered capabilities of Wix Studio and used the wireframe blocks as the skeleton for the template, to not only ensure consistency but also responsiveness across all breakpoints.

I also did:

• testing of the AI image Creator
• I did some design audits of famous jewellery stores like Tiffany’s & Co
• used the AI Text Creator
• on-page SEO
• troubleshooting
• walkthrough of the Wix Wiz SEO checklist
