🌍From Zimbabwe to Croatia: ESG Analyst and Chemical Engineer Podcast Interview

December 18, 2023

On the second episode of Curious Business Talks, I invited my friend Fadzai Musaka from Harare, Zimbabwe, to talk a bit more about her work as a chemical engineer and ESG analyst.

I didn’t want to be one of those friends when someone asked you: What does your friend do for work? To be like: I don’t know, something related to engineering. 🤷🏽‍♀️First, I am too curious not to ask more questions, and second I want to be a good friend and be able to brag about my friends and their skills.

Fadzi and I met through a very non-mysterious way and I could say that our friendship was very organic and easy from the start. As you may know, I have done some comparative analysis between the dating apps Tinder and Bumble (for which you can read more here), and it so happened that I found her in the BFF category of the Bumble app (where you can potentially find your best friend).

A little side track, but it might be destiny that I have so many encounters with dating apps because I also have experience with providing UX/UI consultations for a South Asian dating app that is launching in February 2024. If you want to learn more about the project check my updated case study here.

When we first met we arranged to go on a walk and continue with our BFF date spontenously. We had the usual chat about how we ended up in Croatia, what we do and what we like. Even back then I didn’t fully know how smart and hardworking Fadzi was. She would give me bits of information and when I look back that was a perfectly balanced date to keep me curious and excited for the next one.

Our friendship grew with time, gradual vulnerability and most importantly shared positivity. I didn’t know the full extension of the term hype-person until I met her. 😊 If this story so far didn’t intrigue enough to watch the podcast episode, then I might add that Fazi also has:

  • Experience in teaching
  • Is passionate about environmental topics
  • She is also an active advocate for inclusivity
  • Tactile learner since a young age

Our podcast will premiere on Monday 18.12.24 at 15:00 CET. Grab a warm drink and enjoy! ☕
